Finally, the USA is getting to hear "Rumer"
The forthcoming album is excellent. I been listenng to it regularly since it ws released in the UK. Rumer has class and style that is sorely missing in today's music...To think that Jennifer Lopez who is like 10 years older than Rumer puts out crap like "I'm Into You.".......oh well...
What a voice
I've been listening to Rumer's wonderful voice for months and have been waiting just as long for her music to be released in the US. When do we get more? Her voice is tremendous and something about it reminds me of Karen Carpenter. While it may be simple to say but she's versatile and amazingly talented. Rumer has a long career ahead of her.
Slow
Is it a fluke that it was 10 years ago when "I Don't Know Why" was Nora Jones' break out single appeared? The public was begging for more and Nora and the industry flowed away from this genre. Why does the music industry keep shooting itself in the foot? Rumer proves that you don't have to scream to be heard and that the beauty of the human voice is the most compelling instrument of all. I laugh at those who complain that they have heard this before. It is a simpleton's statement. The same can be said about every genre played today--it's the biggest complaint about Nashville, Jazz, Hip Hop, Rap, Folk, Americana and Rock. And yet, Rumer has made what is old, new again. And I thank her and her producer for that. Great job.
