Album Review

Snuff the Punk, P.O.D.'s second album for Christian indie Rescue Records, was re-released in early 2000 by the Diamante label following the band's major-label debut in 1999. It captures the band in their formative stage, still honing their fairly wide-ranging rap-metal sound, but providing enough moments of raw power to satisfy fans.

Wait a second...

Everyone keeps comparing this to their newer stuff. That is the completely wrong context. This was there first album on a really really small indie label. This is TWO albums before the Fundamental Elements of Southtown. This is when they were still playing local shows and they had a much smaller fanbase. This is a funky fresh album considering the circumstances and its a must have for any P.O.D. fan just because it shows the progression of the band and how far they have come. I'm not judgin anybody else but you gotta take some other factors into account when you listen to this. This is really raw underproduced rock. they started out just like any other band and they have become something great.

THIS IS P.O.D.'s FIRST ALBUM

THIS IS P.O.D.'S FIRST ALBUM SO STOP COMPARING IT TO THEIR LATER ALBUMS!!!! Okay this album was released on Rescue Records (a small indie Christian label) back in 1994 and was remastered and released in 2000 AFTER TFOES came out!! geez look at the release date and discription!! this is not the new album "WHen Angels & Serpents Dance" comes out on April 8th IT is the new album! Of course this album is not as good as their later stuff because this is their first effort so stop giving it low ratings!!!! P.O.D. forever!!!

This is P.O.D's first album, not their new one.

Let me start out by saying: THIS IS NOT P.O.D'S NEW ALBUM. Look at the release date. 1999. They only just added this to iTunes. Rescue records released this right after P.O.D signed with a "big" label. This is old stuff for P.O.D, and was recorded by a small label, so of course its not gonna sound the same. P.O.D's new album "When Angels & Serpents Dance" comes out in April. Now to the actual review: Call a hospital, because this album IS SICK. Good old hard rock sound. I especially like "Coming Back" which provides good riffs.
