DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe became acquainted in 2009 while performing at the same club in New York's Lower East Side. They decided to blend Moe’s classical training with Moretti's years of mixology experience. The sum of both artists was so uncanny that they were soon scoring Fashion Week runways before opening for Janet Jackson at the Louvre. Their So Beautiful EP opens with the title track, a simmering slice of decadent dance pop with floating vocals. Ani Quinn’s remix starts off heavy on the drums before adding a delicious array of confectionary keyboard tones that recall early-'80s neon synth-pop (the subtly groovy wah-wah guitar in the background is a nice touch). The “Sex Ray Vision Remix” works in more house-flavored early-'90s keyboards; when blended with vocals it's slightly reminiscent of Madonna’s Erotica album. Boulder-sized beats fall into the “Wolfpack Remix” before the “Glytch Remix” closes with wintry minimalism segueing into buoyant rhythms.
