On ‘So Close’, Daniel Boys offers us his take on everything from standards to country and pop hits. The vocals are smooth and powerful, and the arrangements are uniformly excellent. My personal favorites are ‘Everything’, mislabeled here as ‘Everything is Beautiful’, ‘One Day More’, and ‘Better than I’. This album has been in heavy rotation on my iPhone since I bought the CD, and I'm glad to see it finally available here in the US iTunes store.
Daniel Boys first shot to notoriety on the BBC’s ‘Any Dream Will Do’, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s talent search for a new Joseph to star in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. Boys didn’t win but he did attract a huge following with his perfect voice and charisma. He now stars in the hit West End version of ‘Avenue Q’ and is definitely one to watch.
Amazing
Daniel has one of the most incredible voices I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. He's got a great selection of songs on this CD. This is definitely a great album to own. I listen to it at least once a day, if not more often on my iPod, and have since I got the CD in August. My personal favorite is 'They Don't Make Glass Slippers'.
Many of his fans were first introduced to his amazing voice and lovely personality through the casting program, 'Any Dream Will Do'. And although he didn't win that, he's done well for himself, dueting with John Barrowman on 'Music Music Music', touring with John on his latest concert tour, as well as appearing in the hit West End production of 'Avenue Q'. Whatever Daniel Boys does in the future, will be wonderful and with his talent, there will be plenty of it too!
