well what I read a bit from an interview with MJK was as far as Tool was concerned he wanted the fans to go through the excitement of opening a disk/album/package that we all in our late 30's and beyond enjoyed so much. I actually appreciate the thought. BTW also check out Sonic Youth's latest Peace!

If Tool ever decided to let some labal shape there music for them, this is what it would sound like.

Okay so obviously, Mer Isn't Tool, but this doesn't mean that they didn't do a good job at doing there own versions of these songs of artistry. The singer (from Mer) does a pretty good job at singing in Maynard's sort of style in my opinion; He does his best at mimicking his tempo and rides his voice like Maynard would. The original versions are still the best, and always will be, but I don't believe the point of this cover was to surpass the originals, so it took my liking. Stinkfist actually sounds really good in an Electro-Acoustic sound to me; I like the mellody and I had an easier time making out the lyrics. So, my verdict, Mer did a really good job at covering these songs, but lets face it, they're not Tool. Still, a real ToolHead should give this CD its dignity without critisizing it like most of the comments I've read. These are still Tool's songs people, respect them, please. SpreadPeace. =)

Give it a Chance and a Thought!

You either like it or you don't. Those who enjoy techno or industrial and TOOL would more than likely like this tribute CD. Yes, they are an awesome band and I suggest seeing them in concert. But there is no reason you can say making a tribute CD with acoustic/techno isn't bringing more attention to the band TOOL themself, which they definately deserve. Maybe they will allow itunes to sell their music someday but it is completely up to them.
