EEERRRIGHT!
Most DJ albums depend on guest spots from rappers on EVERY song, thus making it a generic compliation, and not a genuine solo album. If that isn't the case, other DJ albums are made up of slow, "emo" scratch music that only other DJ's and turntablists can appreciate. Thank god thats not the case with "Solitude". The guest spots, which are great, are limited, allowing I-dee to shine and show his skills. Tracks like; "The Scratch" and "Brutility Raw" showcase I-dee's scratching ability, while "Marble Oasis" and "Anxiety Free" show off his production talent. Aside from the scratches and production, what makes this album so dope is the fact that the entire album flows and transitions well from one song to the next. Bottom line, its a breath of fresh air from all the corny "ringtone" sounding hip-hop out right now.
GREAT ALBUM!!!
What can I say? This album rocks. It's just too bad that sample wasn't cleared for "The Right" and it didn't make it on the final album.
Honestly Expressing One's Self !!!
In an age where almost 90% of the artists try to mimic whoever is "HOT" at the time ,DJ I-Dee takes it back to the way things ought to be = "Being Yourself"...From start to finish you here his influences from "video games" to "rock" to the "boom-bap"..and it comes off Brilliantly!!! -to the point where it has you wanting more!! -CERTIFIED CLASSIC
