Something Big continues in this gospel duo’s tradition of delivering a rock-solid Christian message in soulful style, drawing upon contemporary hip-hop and old school R&B elements in equal measure. Sisters Erica and Tina Atkins play to their strengths as they explore what it means to be a Christian in real-world terms without stinting on infectious beats and self-revealing lyrics. The title track opener sets the tone with its full-throated declaration of belief, spurred on by a clap-along groove. The march-driven “Something Bigger” and the dance-floor workout “Blind” keeps the momentum rolling before the duo cool things down for a luminous reworking of the traditional hymn “It Is Well (With My Soul).” Slower jams like “Sitting With Me” (a message of support to young Christians out of step with the world) and “Catch Me” (a humble confession set to a graceful piano line) are as stirring as the uptempo tracks. Aided by producer Warryn Campbell’s sympathetic, high-polish production, Mary Mary turn Something Big into a sustained celebration of God’s boundless love.

I thought Mary Mary was a Gospel Dou
I like the Mary's; however, I am not a fan of this album. It is to pop like. I also don't want the genre of this cd to be under Hip-Hop/R&B....No! Remember we as christians must come out from among them. These ladies are very talented, and can REALLY SANG! But, sometimes they can be to wordly for me. I know as christians we must draw everyone to God; but, when the world can't distinguish gospel/christian music from their music it's a problem for me.
Disappointed!!!!
Don't Like it...Where is God in this...YOU HAVE REALLY CHANGED YOUR MUSIC, PLEASE GO BACK TO WHERE YOU WAS BEFORE.
The Difference
I love the fact that Christians are getting the idea of taking back what is Gods from the beginning. The Pop/R&B sound that Mary Mary is venturing into is right on target with what God is doing today. We are trying to reach the world with the Gospel. We are not going to reach this 2011 High Tech ever changing world with a 1900 mind set. I am so tired of some Christians saying that Christian Hip-Hop/R&B, Pop, Country, etc... is to much like the world. You must remember music belong to God first, the devil has taken it and corrupt it. We are just taking back what is Naturally and Spiritually ours. Wake up Christians, Jesus said in John 17:15-17, I do not pray that you take them out of the world, but keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by your truth, Your word is truth." That word Sanctify means, SET APART. We are set apart by the truth of Gods word that is in us and that comes out of us. Preaching the truth of THE CROSS behind the beat, GOD IS PLEASED. Its the truth that makes us free not the beat. The beat is simply a conduit or vehicle that carries Gods Truth to the masses.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK MARY MARY AND KEEP PREACHING TRUTH. LOVE THE ALBUM.
