Thank you!

Shinedown is not at all doing this for the money, so that earlier comment is completely false. They are putting this out to please the fans because we love seeing them live, and since they won't be touring again until next year, they are doing everything they can with these releases to keep us happy. This is an awesome album, with both an electric and acoustic set, and I am so glad they put this out! Can't wait to see them live again; they are hands down the best live band around, which is obvious if you listen to this release!

Die-hard fans have been crying for something like this for a long time. It's a huge 33-song collection that aims to capture their live performance. And I don't know if you've been before, but that's not easy (I've seen them 5 times, and I'd go again in a heartbeat). So if you don't want to buy it, don't buy it. But don't say they're trying to make more money like it's a bad thing OR like it's not their right to authorize a live CD. Second of all, they've been touring for 3 years off of the last album. Do you have any idea how rare it is a band can tour off one album for that long? Sure, their debut was huge (went platinum) in the rock sphere, but this tour had them gaining all kinds of new fans thanks to the crossover hits. There's no doubt in my mind Atlantic was telling them the same thing. If you have an opportunity to sell out shows in support of an album you released 3 years ago, you take it. And OF COURSE their management was thinking live CD to cap it all off. You'd be insane not to. The more you study the business, the more you realize how smart of a decision this was. We were lucky to get new releases and singles like Junkies For Fame and Diamond Eyes in the meantime. They've been working on new content for a while and are even giving fans the chance to name the album. It comes in waves, and for a lot of the fans they just wanted to see them live. They had an incredible cycle with Sound of Madness, and now they're back to writing. You want to talk about making the fans happy? THIS IS making the fans happy. The real fans, anyway.

Sweetness for the ears.

While the first discs live materials are amazing, what really shines here are the acoustic pieces. It shows the bands diversity, maturity and range in songwriting ability. Also Brent Smith's legend-making voice is on full display during the second disc. This is a welcome addition to any Shinedown fans library.

Melodic hard rockers Shinedown hail from Jacksonville, Florida and originally featured vocalist Brent Smith, guitarist Jasin Todd, bassist Brad Stewart, and drummer Barry Kerch. Snapped up by Atlantic Records during the early-2000s flurry of post-Creed and Nickelback signings, the group released its debut album, Leave a Whisper, in 2003. Whisper ended up doing quite well for the band (eventually going platinum), aided by its single, "Fly from the Inside." Shinedown also supported it with a heroic...
