Album Review

While it is a bit glossier than the group's debut, Somewhere More Familiar is an engaging record of polished jangle pop, highlighted by the group's harmonies and knack for ringing acoustic guitar riffs. The group's songwriting is a bit inconsistent, but when Sister Hazel do hit upon the right song — such as "All for You" — the results are exceedingly pleasant.

This is a great song that can get stuck in your head for hours and not get tired of it! It is also cool to watch their success because my dad grew up with Drew Copeland, who is the second singer and guitarist. He is also know as the guy who doesn't where shoes! Check out is album it's also great!

Just a great cd

So i am basically a fan of Heavy metal music such as Slipknot and Disturbed, but enjoy the lighter rock as well, and as far as light rock/ alternative music goes, Sister Hazel is tops. Yes, the song that everyone knows, "All for You" is incredible, catchy, and well performed, but there are many other gems on this album as well. Among the more favorable tunes i found, "Happy", "So Long", "Superman", "Look to the Children", and "Starfish". There are choruses in "Happy" and "So Long" that you cannot help but sing along with. "Look to the Children" has a great guitar, and "Superman" is hard not to tap your foot to. As for "Starfish", it is an out of the ordinary song, but the blend of the drums, guitar, and bass is just hard to beat. As for the other tracks, they are all good, they just do not stick out as much as the others.

If you are a fan of Sister Hazel at all, you would love this album, if your new to them, i reccomed giving this cd a try, it is well worth it.
