The Future Is Now!
Schpilkas is one of my all-time favorite artists, because of his innovative approaches, inspired writing, daring to bring in influences from other genres and killer grooves. This is music to party to, music to chill out to, music to better yourself to, music to invent something to. Schpilkas is timeless, because he has always celebrated both the past and the future, and in doing so, manages to keep a piping hot, fresh sound that is unlike anything else in the present. Hip Hop, Electronic, Classical, Jazz and Pop fans will all find something to appreciate about these great tracks. Hearing it live is a whole different, amazing experience unto itself, but we are fortunate also, to have these jams available to listen to at any time. This is not someone who merely samples music and mixes it up, but someone who actually composes, orchestrates, plays every note and every beat by hand (he can play just about any instrument you name), as well as produces, records and mixes - The Real Deal. Whether shaking your money maker to the thumps of "Timbuk2", going futher with the maestro-like notions of "Timbuk3 (Beats Col Legno)" or maxin and relaxin to tunes like "Dream Arps", this album - Songs For The Restless - will not disappoint.
