Don't look back!
As someone close to the Christian music Industry, I hope you wont consider what the person below me wrote. I'm sorry to disagree with the person below me, but your new music is beautifully authentic and honest; something I have rarely seen in the Christian music industry. Don't be lead to believe you can't have a secular album and be a great role model. As a Christian, this music has a greater impact on me than most artist that have graced CCM's pages. Thank you for being you.
Soundtracks
Joy Williams has had some success lately getting her songs included on TV shows, and that's basically what these collections sound like to me. "You're My Favorite" and "Doesn't Get Better Than This" are great sing-along tunes and should be a commercial success. "Speaking a Dead Language" is a completely different color in its haunting, melancholy moodiness. My personal favorite, and perhaps the most "honest" song in the EP is the quirky and comical "Up Means Down." One of Joy's many strengths has always been her lyrical content, and that's why I think this song is the most personal of the bunch. The musical intro is reminiscent of Gilbert & Sullivan, and the oomph-pa-pa brass are a hoot as Joy scoops and slides her way through the lyrics. Great orchestration!
