Siobhan IS Shakespears Sister!

This is an amazing album. Although very different from previous SS albums, Siobhan's voice will always be THE voice of Shakespears Sister. Some of the best tracks are It's A Trip, Hot Room, Man In A Uniform, Cold, You're Not Yourself, Pulsatron (the Gully Mix) and A Loaded Gun. There are much better versions of Bitter Pill out there but this version is a nice change. As mentioned on other reviews, many of these songs have been around for a while but most of the songs on this album are newer or alternate versions. Overall, every song has something to offer. Siobhan's voice is an original and she's a very underrated songwriter. Please also check out SS third album, titled "3". It is the best of the Shakespears Sister albums. I'm definitely looking forward to a new SS album in the future. Hopefully it won't be as long of a wait.

Good album, suspect band name..

While I like the content of this album it's just a series of singles Soibham has released over the last several years, which didn't get any attention so they were remarketed under the guise of Shakespears Sister. Frankly, although she never intended it to be that way, Shakespears Sister is what happens when you put Soibhan Fahey AND MARCELLA DETROIT in a studio and see what happens..They are both great as solo artists, but calling Soibhan Shakespears Sister without Marcella would be like Dave Stewart calling himself Eurythmics without Annie Lennox!

Better late than sorry ...

Overall these songs are good even though they have been around a while. I think Siobhan is a good song writer and has a unique sound. Her songs are dark, hip and full of attitude. I hope this album means she plans on returning to the music scene and sticking around for a while. She always seems on the brink of something new but never quite gets there. Stand outs for me are "Was It Worth It," "A Man In Uniform," "A Loaded Gun" and "You're Not Yourself." These are the tracks I haven't heard before. The new mix of "It's a Trip" is good. This songs deserves a proper release with some killer remixes. The version of "Bitter Pill" on this album is not the best. The Droyds remix rules (also available on iTunes under Siobhan Fahey). "Bad Blood" is a killer track (look for the GHP remix—it's really good).

Comprised of Siobhan Fahey and Marcella Detroit (born Marcy Levy), Shakespear's Sister formed in late 1988. After their first single flopped, Shakespeare's Sister's second single, "You're History," made it into the U.K. Top Ten. Sacred Heart, their 1989 debut, also made it into the Top Ten. Most of the material on Sacred Heart and the 1991 follow-up Hormonally Yours was written with...
