WARNING: NOT the Macabees from UK
This is EP is by the Maccabees (Tampa, FL - US) originally released 1998. Female fronted indie-rock featuring members of Pohgoh. The Maccabees (US) existed from 1998-2000.
A Real, Honest Review
I would like to start by getting several things straight. First- this is not the same band as the UK band of the same name, as mentioned in almost all other reviews. Second- apple messed up bad by grouping the two bands together. Third- reviewers have no right giving this album a bad score, simply because this is a different band of the same name (this one came first, FYI). Now for my review: this is an excellent EP. Solid instrumentation compliments beautiful, soothing vocals. My only wish is that the songs were longer and the band was still together. If you are looking for great acoustic music- i urge you to check them out.
AMAZING!!
I have just seen these guys live with bloc party and i must say they are one of the best bands to come out or UK. With so many great UK bands they're starting to make the US look like chumps. Buy this EP as well as there original album, amazing works from The Maccabees
