Finally a reminder of those great acoustic shows!
"16 Days" is a cover of Whiskeytown's tune from their "Strangers Almanac" album. Rob and Scott used to play this all the time at their acoustic shows. I'm so glad they've elected to record it and post it up for purchase; it's a great example of the wide range of influences the band has had over the years. The new renditions of the older songs give a real flavor for what the band's more low-key acoustic shows are like.
This is great stuff; the Clarks have been around awhile. Check 'em out.
Solid
16 Days is a decent track that I hope grows on me more than the bonus track to Restless Days. The Clarks rarely write a bad song. The rest are reworked Clarks standards rerecorded and arranged to fit their current country-rock sound. Some may cringe at the thought of changing some of their best stuff, but I promise its not bad at all. The powerchords are gone in favor of acoustic guitars, fiddle, and guest singers. The more I listen to this EP (after buying it an hour ago!), the more pleased I am with each song. The greatest departure is Boys Lie - it sounds like an adult radio hit. Congrats to the guys for a great effort.
