Lisa Howard AND William Finn--Amazing!
An absolute delight from start to finish, this CD showcases the amazing talents of both the performer and the composer. SONGS OF INNOCENCE AND EXPERIENCE: LISA HOWARD SINGS THE MUSIC OF WILLIAM FINN is a must-have for anyone who is a fan of William Finn or anyone who needs a crash course on the wit and warmth of this phenomal composer. The album is a healthy mix of Finn's more popular and less well-known work, all delivered by the exquisite Lisa Howard. From the raucous (LISTEN TO THE BEAT) to the reflective (SONGS OF INNOCENCE AND EXPERIENCE), this album is simply a pleasure. I'm especially fond of the acoustic guitar setting in SAILING and Ms. Howard's heartbreaking rendition of WHEN THE EARTH STOPPED TURNING. Also notable are Ms. Howard's pairing (and overwhelmingly beautiful delivery) of FATHER TO SON and THAT'S ENOUGH FOR ME, and her take on INFINITE JOY is immensely gratifying.
One of the best voices of all time!
LIsa Howard is a musical theatre Goddess. I have not stopped listening to this album since I bought it.
William Finn is my favorite composer and Lisa Howard has my favorite voice.
PERFECTION!!!!!! This is a must get for any MT fan!!!!
