Great indie alt-country album!
I highly recommend this disc. The Molenes wear their influences proudly - Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, John Prine, Hank Williams, to name just a few. But they've put all those pieces together in one pot, added a healthy dose of some seriously twangy guitar playing, steam-train drums and rumbling bass, and come up with something completely different. The songs on this disc may seem dark but the music just grabs you!
I've always loved this group! Real country music!
(Float your Molenes!) Totally awesome group - I can't wait to hear all of the album. They're the perfect remedy for anyone who's tired of the pop-country scene and looking for *real* country music. :)
