A perfect blend of ambient styles and moods!
Admittedly, I am a fan of ambient electronic music so keep this in mind. Sonic Frontiers I is a perfect meld of slightly different takes on a predominant ambient theme, which really creates a nice esthetic flow within this group of ambient selections. What I really like about samplers, is that sometimes the diversity of each artist can commingle extremely well in a group format and this is such a release. There are 8 pieces by different artists and they flow in and out magnificently. It feels like your own ambient radio show.
This is a classic ambient release and an excellent selection for a first timer who is just starting to explore the calming cycles of ambient music. Highly recommended
