Album Review

Michael Bolton is no fool, and when he broke through to platinum sales with The Hunger, nobody had to tell him to record a follow-up devoted to more of the same. Bolton produced most of the record himself, and he teamed with the cream of the era's romantic rock ballad writers, people like Diane Warren (who gets five co-credits here) and Desmond Child, while the R&B copy this time was Ray Charles' version of "Georgia on My Mind." He also reclaimed "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You" from Laura Branigan. The result was five Top 40 hits and millions of albums sold. Maybe Bolton wasn't the king of the hockey rinks, but his voice was now stoking the romantic fires in bedrooms across America, which is nice work if you can get it.

This is an awesome album!!

Soul Provider is a great album and there were some really great songs including the title track and the cover of "Georgia On My Mind" and "How Can We Be Lovers" and the magical and uplifting "When I'm Back On My Feet Again" penned by Dianne Warren.. also this album inquired the help of a songwriter and producer named Desmond Child along side Bolton , Warren and also Eric Kaz who wrote the duet with Suzie Benson called "From Now On". but the other key track from this album is "It's Only My Heart**" very reminiscant of Michael McDonald** who too also worked with Dianne Warren on his hit "Take It To Heart". This album has alot of good songs that I believe you guys should take a chance on buying the cd or download the tracks!! my personal fave songs from this album It's Only My Heart When I'm Back On My Feet Again- ( if you like the song "Do I Make You Proud" you'll love this song) Georgia On My Mind- Classic Cover How Can We Be Lovers- Rocking song!! Soul Provider- Simply sexy How Am I Supposed to Live Without You- That Song scored "Michael Bolton a Grammy" overall I like the whole album!! I hope you do too!!

Singer/songwriter Michael Bolton had an extensive (though not very successful) career under his real name, Michael Bolotin, before emerging in the mid-'80s as a major soft rock balladeer. He first turned up on RCA Records in the mid-'70s, singing cover tunes and his own blue-eyed soul songs in a gruff, Joe Cocker-like voice. Neither record buyers nor critics were much interested by the result. He then became the lead singer of Blackjack, a heavy metal band that made two albums for Polydor before...
