You don't have to be gay!!!
I stumbled upon Mark Weigle's music online, now he's one of my favorite artist. This Double CD is amazing, filled with a great variety of music, from beautiful love songs to nasty honkytonk tunes. Mark Weigle is a fantastic songwriter, with country songs better than anything being played on CMT or country radio. In a perfect world, Mark Weigle would be a huge star, being showered in accolades and money. But it's not and his music remains a wonderful secret to be discovered and enjoyed by those brave enough to venture outside the mainstream and their own musical comfort zones. You do not have to be gay to enjoy this CD, it's a simply excellent music from an excellent artist!!!!
Used to be a fan
Sorry to say Mark lost me big time with this one. It plays like a novelty album. It reminds me of those "naughty" greeting cards you find in the sex toy shops. It might be a hoot live if you are drunk enough not to care how sophomoric the lyrics are, but on an album it is just plain bad.
Pretty Insightful Dude
Weigle writes music with an insight I haven't heard in many years. It helps to be gay, but it certainly isn't a necessity in order to pick up on his sensitivity, humor, and wisdom. Great stuff.
