Customer Reviews
Bay Brass is smokin'!
First recording I've heard of the Bay Brass, and they're hot! I was mostly interested in the John Williams pieces (tracks 1-3), and they really smoke on track 3, "Aloft...To The Royal Masthead". The title track has a phasing/timing issue at 0:22 between the trumpets and horns, but they quickly recover. The average listener may not even notice it. However, they are taking that piece at such a speedy clip! Strongly recommend the first 3 tracks. I'll let someone else review the rest of the album.
Be warned, iTunes messed up the composer tag for Tracks 9-12. They were composed by Bruce Broughton, not John Williams.
Original and lively
I love Brass and this recording offers the listener a lot of lively and contemplative music. Excellent compilation!
