Your Southern Backtones!
The Backtones have combined the unlikley influences of modern Brit pop with 60's Texas Psychedic Rock. This concoction is tastefully seasoned with (believe it or not) a rockabilly intensity. Like all really ground-breaking bands, the whole is so much greater than the sum of the parts. This is CD is an excellent way to get into this band. Be sure and check out 'Forever' and 'Little Ghost'. Lyricist/Frontman Hank Schyma is definitely not afraid of big subject matter. Finally, be sure and check out 'Slumber Party'. If this is any indication of where the band is headed on their next CD, then we can look forward to a bit more 'Southern' (as in desert/swamp land influence) in the next record. Highly recommended.
