This is fabulous!
Okay so I'm a huge musical theatre nerd so when I saw on a music blog that someone had recorded a pop rendition of "A Stranger Here Myself" I had to check it out. Not only has Marsha Qrella picked a diverse selcetion of Lowe and Weill's best songs (some more well known others) but she adds her own wonderful - almost addicting flair- to every single one. I highly reccomend her quietly introspective "on the street where you live" - its simplicity of orchestration makes you hear the soaringy romantic words as if for the first time. Also her rock'n roll treatment of "The Saga of Jenny" only adds to the winking humor of this forgotten gem of a song. Go ahead and check this out if your a passing fan of Weill or Lowe, or if your just looking for something new. you wont regret it!
