iTunes Review
One of the few breakthrough MCs representing for Massachusetts (specifically Lawrence, a grimy industrial city outside of Boston), Termanology has been steadily putting in work since the mid-'00s, and is perhaps best known for his near-classic DJ Premier-produced single "Watch How It Go Down." Longtime co-conspirator Statik Selektah has been bombing true hip-hop heads with his distinctive production for many years now as well, unleashing a torrent of high quality beats heavy on the chopped samples, mood-bending loops, and ferocious breaks. The two grew up together and have collaborated on countless tracks and mixtapes, exhibiting an effortless partnership that is apparent in their music. 1982 is an excellent all-around rap record. Term's dense verbals and Big Pun-influenced flow is outstanding as usual, and Statik's classically minded compositions suit them perfectly. Standout joints include "People Are Running," "Wedding Bells," "The Street Life," and "Born In 82," while we also get solid features from M.O.P., Styles P, Xzibit, and Freeway. Highly recommended.
