Absolutely fantastic!
If you’ve seen Stephen Simmonds in concert, you know his live performance is an amazing experience. If you haven’t had an opportunity to catch one of his gigs, this incredible collection of songs recorded live in Stockholm at Polstjärnan, will make you want to! I love every track on this cd, especially “Where Is Your Heart,” the ethereal “Universe” and the reggae infused rendition of “Killing & Religion.”
Love this man....
So humble, so cool, so talented. Pianist, writer, singer- a great coming together of talents. A blessing that the US only embraced for a short time with his breakthough CD in the 90's, "Spirit Tales". Shame how this country chews one up and spits one out when done! Nature of this beast, the US, that is not producing much musical talent on the charts these days....but I digress...Stephen Simmonds properly displays his many talents on this live set. "Alone" will forever be my favorite. He jams on that tune and I just love the funky side it brings out of his personality. He has varying shades and tints to his style and you will appreciate them all if you truly appreciate singer/songwriters with grandeose musical vision. Enjoy him giving new breath and new life to some of his best compositions. Peace!!!
