A Hidden Gem
If you're a fan of acoustic, God-honoring music, then this CD is for you. Somewhat reminiscent of Caedmon's Call back in the day at times, but with an original sound all his own, Rick crafted a beautiful collection of original songs and a couple old hymns with modern spins. His version of "Be Thou My Vision" actually almost made my wife cry the first time she heard it. Other standouts for me include Psalm 42, Free Lands, Still Frame, and Lift Up Your Eyes. Thoughtful lyrics never bordering on cliche, with goreous melodies complimented by amazing harmonies at times (Be Thou My Vision comes to mind), this album is a hidden gem among the glut of CD's being put out in Christian music. Check it out. You won't regret it.
