Album Review

The pop odyssey of the Connells continues with this very strong effort. The catchy hooks grab you on first listen, but they are backed up with enough meat to give the album staying power. This is power-pop with an unusually relaxed character: a musical contradiction that somehow works beautifully.

Finally THE CONNELLS ARE ON ITUNES!!!!

This is one of the best alblums of the 90's and it's finally on itunes. This alblum is dynamite.

The best yet: and that's saying something

I've been a fan of The Connells forever, but when this album came out I knew I wouldn't get the same old thing. For three years or so I couldn't listen to album and then it clicked. All of a sudden I listened for months straight. It wasn't Weird food, nor was it Ring. It was it's own animal, and it supprised me that it took so long for me to appriciate it. 'Queen of charades' is one of the best songs, to be fair I say this about alot of their songs. Truly, one of the best albums of the 90's, buy this album and if you need to give it three years, it will sink in.

Connells are Finally on iTunes!

All these guys' albums are still on my iPods. Glad they are finally on iTunes. They are
the seminal band for those of us who came of age in the South in the '80's and '90s. They are nice guys too, and always were happy to chat with you after their shows. Despite having seen them live dozens of time, my favorite memory of them is hearing "'74-'75" playing on the Muzak in the bathroom of a pizza shop in London on my second day in Europe in the summer of 1996. Hearing that, my North Carolina home didn't seem so far away! Thanks for all the wonderful memories Doug, George, Mike, David, and Peele!
