Album Review

Taking stock in themselves and their music after many crushing but profitable years on the road, Foghat came up with this record of hard electric blues. Coming from a variety of sources, Stone Blue could be looked upon and retreading familiar ground. If that's the case, Foghat should do it more often, because Stone Blue delivers the goods. Not as rocking as previous releases, it still holds listeners' attention with bluesy electric fire and interesting break in form.

Foghat!!!

A great album! Stone Blue is a great song, and Sweet Home Chicago is a great cover. If you like it, try the version by the Blues Brothers. I highly suggest you buy this album, but at least buy Stone Blue, Sweet Home Chicago, and Easy Money.

Very Underrated

This is one of my favorite albums of this time period, and one of Foghat's best. They're at the top of their game here. Great songs and consistent throughout, but none of these hit the radio at the time except the title track. Too bad because there's not a bad song on here. They just don't make music like this anymore. Rod Price is probably the most underrated slide guitarist in the history of rock music.

SWEET HOME CHICAGO!

Out of all the people who sang Sweet Home Chicago. I think Foghat sang it THE BEST OUT OF EVERYONE ELSE! PLUS IT WAS USED ON THE SNL SKETCH "DA BEARS SUPER FANS"! With CHRIS FARLEY!

Foghat specialized in a simple, hard-rocking blues-rock, releasing a series of best-selling albums in the mid-'70s. While the group never deviated from their basic boogie, they retained a large audience until 1978, selling out concerts across America and earning several gold or...
