Customer Reviews
stones throw is epic
Every song is well crafted and you can tell each artist put a lot of time into it. In an interview a few days ago peanut butter wolf (artist and head of Stones Throw) stated: "I basically told everybody before the album was getting done, You’d better give me a few songs and let me pick the best ones, I don’t want this to be just like another compilation where everybody just gives me a throwaway song that didn’t make their album." I really think that shines through here. Madlib is a genious and has some of the best produced tracks on the record. If you love Stones Throw, cop it now...if you don't you probably won't understand it.
PURE RAP
Let me just sum it up. Every single one of these tracks is at least o.k. 10 of these are at least good. 5 of these are GREAT. Here's those 5. (in order) 1. Guilty Simpson - Clap Your Hands 2. Aloe Blacc - What Now 3. Madlib - Take It Back 4. J Dilla - Nothing Like This 5. Koushik - None In Mind I'd recommend getting the whole thing because you will be surprised of how eclectic this rap mix is.
Lil' Jon is Dead
The age of "crunk" hip-hop is done. This album delivers beat after original beat and keeps you smiling. [Adult Swim] And Stones Throw are a great combo for a compilation album. Your going to want to buy this whole album and then you will see the beginning of the end for modern hip-hop. Something much brighter is coming over the horizon.
