The Oklahoma rock quartet Aranda cites a diverse amalgam of influences, such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, Lenny Kravitz, and Prince. Musically, Stop the World has more in common with post-grunge luminaries like Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman, and All American Rejects. “The Upside of Vanity” opens Stop the World with larger-than-life arena rock (imagine a more polished and musically disciplined Buckcherry). The standout single “Undone” is peppered with razor-honed hooks so catchy that it’s easy to understand why Kelly Clarkson covered two of Aranda's songs on her 2009 album All I Ever Wanted. The hard-rocking title track gets a bit heavier with semi-sludgy riffs and a deep, rumbling bass. Gabe Aranda sings over this like a young Ian Gillian before brother Dameon Aranda comes in with the kind of airtight close-harmonies that can only be sung by siblings. Gabe stretches out his inflections in “Satisfied,” an emotionally urgent power ballad worthy of audience lighter-hoisting.

Good album, but the first is better
Obviously, Aranda is a phenominal band, but there are some rough patches on this album. The other shined through and through. Not as good as their first, but still a strong second effort from the guys. Overall, my favorites are "The Upside of Vanity", "One More Lie", "Break Away", and "The Rest Of My Life." I'd still recommend this to anyone to buy, but I wouldn't spend money on the whole album. Strong effort, and can;t wait to see these guys push forward through the years.

These guys have IT. Their raw talent displayed with delicious vocals and emotionally charged original tunes creates undeniable greatness. Everything they do is just incredible. Looking forward to drinking in this album!
