Album Review

Plain White T's' debut album, Stop, follows in the footsteps of Jimmy Eat World's sudden success in 2002, and evidently these four young men read up on their history. Stop is rather generic, although it does provide several enjoyable songs, such as "Please Don't Do This," in which vocalist Tom Higgenson pleads for his girlfriend to admit her cheating ways, and the breezy "Shine." Plain White T's' largest obstacle is its sounding like emo figureheads Dashboard Confessional and the aforementioned Jimmy Eat World, and in its desperation to emulate these groups it forgets to also inject its songs with a noticeable style of its own. As of such, Stop is simply a forgettable release overshadowed by its peers in the emo/rock scene. ~ Jason D. Taylor, All Music Guide

Plain White T

I totally agree this is their best album!! I knew plain white t's back when they use to play at the DownTown in Farmingdale, Ny. That's where all the famous bands we love today got most of their starts from. Groups like Simpleplan played there before they got famous. Most bands actually got discovered here. It's a shame it got closed down, but I'll always have that image of the first time the Plain White T's played there and rocked out that show!! Just goes to show sometimes, going to back to the past can help. If the plain white t's can pick up some of there old vibe back I think they have a real good shot of maintaining fame. lata

Nice guys

This album is awesome! When this album came out years ago, they toured & played a church basement show by my house. We hung out with them during the whole show & they were the nicest guys! It's really great to see that they made it big time now!

Irresistably Great!

One of life's untold mysteries is why the Plain White T's had to write Hey There Delilah to become famous. i mean, it was a great song, but has anyone listened to there old stuff, as well? Hello!!!??????
