yes!
been waiting a while for this one, "easy beats in moden times" was in heavy rotation for me for quite a while, and is still regularly played. This record is alot more lo-fi which may turn some people off, but i think it adds alot more character. this band wears it's influences on it's sleeve, which i don't find to be a bad thing if you are influenced by good music(in their case, alot of 60's mod, garage, blues and soul) yet they do still sound origional and refreshing. I'm going to make certain i'm at their show at piano's in june and hopefully catch the philly show as well. buy this.
The Good Stuff
I love the blues, and I love indie rock. Having heard these two genres finally meet with perfect results, I cannot express how much I love The Booze. If you possess any interest whatsoever in anything from Bessie Smith to Babyshambles to the Beatles, you won't regret buying this album. Every song seems better than the last, yet somehow I can't pick a favourite. Each track combines a great beat with wonderfully evocative lyrics, and there are absolutely no filler tracks - every last note seems essential to the album as a whole. All in all, it's a delicious mix of garage, mod, blues, and soul which is guaranteed to provide that much-needed pick-me-up!
Must Buy!
This album deffinately doesn't hit the sophomore slump, it's sooooo good. I cannot say enough about these guys they're great, I listen to this aIbum in my car all the time. Very catchy, highly enjoyable
