Rollers go soft rock....good, if you like soft rock
The last gasp of the original Rollers. (Singer Les McKeown left after this LP.) This was their "we are not a teenybopper band" statement; but rather than rocking harder, they moved toward the soft-album-rock sound that was hot at the time (think "Baby Come Back" by Player). The result? Great, if you like tedious, depressing ballads about love gone wrong. Bad, if like me you favor the peppy, upbeat power pop of the group's past.

The Bay City Rollers were a Scottish pop/rock band of the '70s with a strong following among teenage girls. The origins of the group go back to the formation of the duo the Longmuir Brothers in the late '60s, consisting of drummer Derek Longmuir (b. March 19, 1952, Edinburgh, Scotland) and his bass-playing brother Alan (b. June 20, 1953, Edinburgh). They eventually changed their name to the Saxons, adding singer Nobby Clarke and John Devine.
