Album Review
Legendary composer/conductor Elmer Bernstein provided scores for some of Hollywood's greatest dramas (Cecil B. DeMille's Ten Commandments, The Magnificent Seven) but he was equally at home playing the straight man to comedy classics like Animal House, Airplane, and Ghostbusters. In 1980 he took on the Ivan Reitman military spoof Stripes with the utmost seriousness, crafting a rousing Patton-esque march that registered as one of his more memorable cues. The composer used his work on the Steve McQueen classic The Great Escape as a template for Stripes. The film was a huge success, launching the careers of Bill Murray and John Candy, but Bernstein's terrific soundtrack was never made available. In 2005, Varese Sarabande released the full remastered score to coincide with the release of the newly expanded DVD.

Me too!
I agree with one of the other writers. I only want the first piece as well! I have nothing against the other scores, but I have searched high and low for this music... and what do I get? I have to purchase the ENTIRE album!! Rats!!!
One thing to point out...
I, too, only want the first track. I've noticed that all of the albums from a movie that Elmer Bernstien had composed have only given you the choice to buy the whole album- the only Bernstien pieces I've been able to get are from collections of different peices from his different films or froms other films of that genre (e.g. War films, Westerns). There is probably a lot of legal stuff behind why itunes can't let us purchase these and other Bernstien peices individually.
iTunes?
Isn't the point of iTunes so that someone does not have to buy the entire album but just the songs they want? Because really all the songs are based off the first two songs anyway.
