A must have for any Van Halen fan
An excellent crossover from rock 'n roll to bluegrass, listening to this album has put a feeling in me I haven't felt for years. Thanks guys.
LISTEN before you write a review!!
It's a GREAT album...but you need to know what you're listening to. It's a BLUEGRASS TRIBUTE ALBUM. DLR is the ONLY member of Van Halen who appears on the album...and he's only on TWO songs. If you don't like bluegrass, you won't like like this. If your outlook on music isn't myopic you can appreciate this album for what it is: some killer bluegrass players performing their own takes on a few VH classics. Diamond Dave's voice probably wasn't the best fit for his tracks, but try telling him that. Blue Highway's version of "I'll Wait" is outstanding...but there are plenty more. If you like blugrass, you need to have this!!
Remember, this is a BLUEGRASS TRIBUTE not a Van Halen CD
I was sad to read the other reviews panning this effort. If you know bluegrass, this is a killer album. If all you know is Eddie and company, you'll be disappointed. If you know and love both, this is for you. Clever arrangements of classic rock n roll tunes. And why not!?
