Zombastic
Picked this up on a whim after seeing it on clearance shelf for a couple bucks. After listening the whole way through I wondered why it needed to be on clearance. Great indie bands doing covers of awesome 1950's songs should make it an automatic best seller. Tounge-in-cheek concept for a sountrack, and it works on both the serious side and as a disguised laugh. "Everyday" and "Shaking All Over" are my picks for weakest tracks while "Lollipop", "Mr. Sandman", and "If I Only Had a Brain" are my highlights.
I'm SO GLAD I BOUGHT THIS ALBUM!
This is the first whole album I bought on itunes as a new iPod owner, and I love it so much--I wish there was another album just like it!! I ADORE Lollipop, Earth Angel, Mr. Sandman, If I only Had a Brain---all of it is querky and fun, and well worth the money! Buy it, and you'll love it too. p.s. I don't even play video games!
Amazing Album!
I absolutely love this album, all of the artists are fantastic, from up-and-coming Ben Kweller (or at least he was when he did this), to estabalished Death Cab for Cutie and The Flaming Lips. Fortunately for me I got the album for free because I know producers of the album (Post Effects) who got all the bands together to do the album. Personal Favorite was Strangers In The Night by Cake
