Stuporstardom! is Super Stellar!
Somebody must have put a turbo-charged rocket up Jinx's butt! This is insane fun. Check out "You Gotta Come Home With Me" the best way I can describe it is a crazy ska meets spaghetti western dirty punk song. Then, jump to something like "Perfect" which is mean as hell but sounds like a breezy sorta 80's pop ditty. A total departure from "Booted and Cuffed," here there's punk, power pop, ska, 60's pop, gospel punk, rockabilly overtones, some 80's keyboards, big riffs, thundering drums, that great voice and it all works. Stuporstardom! is so not last year's Jinx but it's so much better. So amazing, it leaves you wondering why this guy isn't mega huge. Maybe Stuporstardom! will catapult Jinx Titanic to the kind of Superstardom he deserves!
Best Jinx Titanic yet!
Biting, funny, witty and as fast and furious as they come. This time he seems to be mixing the rock/punk sound with expanded instruments. Just as the songs have progressed, so has the sound, and it's a great evolution! Fantastic record, and a instant classic. Politics and fun haven't sounded this good in ages. Gay, straight or somewhere in the middle, this album is smart, wry and rocking!
Titanic + Albini = Double Genius!
WOW! Jinx Titanic's solo record is so damn good, it makes all previous Jinx Titanic and Super 8 C*m Shot records (which are amazing) look like kid stuff! All the explosive energy, humor, and smut you'd expect from Titanic PLUS the recognizable gargantuan sonic boom of engineer Steve Albini. There are all kinds of surprises here - horns, keyboards, layered harmonies, but overall the record stays true to Titanic's unique dirty-pop-punk form and perspective. Big and Ballsy, Stuporstardom Rocks! "Trouble Of The World" almost blew out my windows!
