one of the most unique CDs of the new millenium

I cannot say enough good things about this album. The style is a somewhat jazzy indie rock that is not like anything else out there right now. The lyrics are amazing throughout and lead vocals fit the music style very well. This is a more rock-oriented album than the previous album, but the vibraphone is still prevalent. The jazzy feel is helped, if not almost entirely created by the vibes and add a dreamy quality to the music. The drums are excellent and just technical enough to not get boring. Every song is different which greatly adds to replay value. the only downside is the first two songs which seem aimless and lack the catchy melody or rock-out parts from the rest of the album. well worth a purchase best songs: head hang low, balling phase, theives all around us

amazing free form jazz-indie

Best album of 2002. Instantaneously conjures an influx of memories and thoughts of a past that may lie in the subconscious or another plain deep inside the soul

Revisit this gem

With the recent success of excellent bands like Menomena, it seems a shame that so few people have had the pleasure of hearing of Aloha - and of their album Sugar, in particular. I agree with the Itunes reviewer that this album requires a close listen - so if you're up to it, and have a decent pair of headphones, you will not be disappointed. Along with Radiohead's Kid A, as well as the aforementioned Menomena, this is what musicians should aspire to.
