Buy this and support excellent hip-hop.
The fact that TM is not famous proves that there's something wrong with hip-hop's current state. Their music is a reminder of why I fell in love with rap in the first place. This EP is excellent and their album Moonlighting is amazing. Somehow, they've combined a love of the golden age with an attitude, sense of humor, and an intellect that moves this music forward.
A Tribe Called Tanya
I was listening to a Little Brother Mixtape, when I realized the guy from "Word From Our Sponser", was the same guy from Nicolay's "First Date". Then I looked up Tanya Morgan, and downloaded "Moonlighting". I don't think I have heard music from any group, label, crew, whatever, as good as these three brothas. Good music devoid of ridiculous themes or crack sells, flashy(gawdy) jewelry, and outrageously expensive cars. Their music is about what people like me and you(maybe?) go through everyday....oh, did I tell you the raps are ridiculous, and the beats are heavenly??? I would have paid $20 for this cd. With the current state of HipHop at its alltime worst, groups like Tanya Morgan coming out with ep's and albums like this one, provides some hope!! Original beats, great lyrics that flow......a must buy!!
