Great Voice!!! And she is hot to Boot!!

What a great and fresh way to approach opera! I can not wait to hear (and see!!) more form her.

Wow Wow Wow!!!

I've never heard anything like this and I'm absolutely blown away! Micaela's voice is incredible and I love the tracks too. Its really a unique blend of opera and electronic music that is totally fresh. I also love that there's a cool mix of up tempo songs and really moody sexy ballads. Overall, the record has a cinematic feel too which completely transports you somewhere. I can't say enough great things about this new artist and am looking forward to anything she puts out in the future. You don't have to like opera to love this record. Trust me, its just awesome!!! I've played it for a bunch of random people and everyone says, "Wow!" I wish more artists would take chances like Micaela did. Brava!

ADDICTING!!!!

""Syren" is a apt name for Micaela Haley's debut album. Haley is taking some of opera's most well known songs and giving them a digital upgrade. For many of the songs, she has changed the arrangement to make them her own and bring them into the new millennium. Being sure to add her own music into the mix, three original tracks appear on "Syren." Haley even co-wrote one of the songs, "Come Away." The trio of songs feel right at home on the album among those that have been living within the culture for years.

With standards like "La Vie En Rose," "Ave Maria" and "Habanera" from Carmen, Haley is playing in the big leagues vocally. By placing the electronic backing music, the songs take on a depth level. In the case of "Habanera" it takes on an urban night life feel to it that is as slinky sounding as it is haunting. Things are only made better because of how seamlessly the tracks glide into each other.
Mixing opera and electronica is a risky move, but classically trained soprano is making it pay off. "Syren" isn't something you won't find on the radio, but listen to it once and you will find that it becomes addicting. Just once won't be enough."
