iTunes Review
Texas instrumentalists Explosions In the Sky make big, cinematic music with fairly basic instrumentation — mostly guitars and drums, a little bass — and their sixth studio effort, Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, offers up a number of firsts for the quartet: a first official video (for the cosmic and beautiful opener, “Last Known Surroundings”), the first use of vocals (utilized as effects only), and the first appearance of electronic drums (used very sparingly). The band’s crescendo-heavy, dramatic v. pastoral post-rock is considered by many to be the reigning brand of the genre, with recent output by fellow post-rockers Mogwai and Godspeed You Black Emperor! being both spotty and rare. Take Care may be the best EITS record since their first; they are meticulously fine-tuning the way their artful washes of sound are delivered, how their atmospheric collisions are painted. EITS maintain a hopeful, transportive tone, and while there is much to delve into here without trepidation, we point out the comparatively brief, faces-to-the-sky joy of “Trembling Hands” and the stellar, ten-minute stretch of bliss that is “Let Me Back In” as great places to start. Say yeah.

Different, but I like it!
I have never been disappointed by any new releases from Explosions in the Sky...like ever. the great thing about them is each album is unique to all the others, yet never so much that you mistake them for another band. Take Care, Take Care, Take Care follows that same pattern. Different from the rest, but still unmistakably Explosions in the Sky.
Love you guys!!!
Beautiful! Still explosions!
Explosions is back! After a four year break from making music they make their return to the recording studio in an impressive fashion presenting the works of some amazing talent. If you like explosions in the sky at all, this album is for you and worth every penny.
Last Known Surroundings- A very intense track which is reminiscent of earlier works. Beautifully moving song.
Human Qualities- Song most resembling earlier works with a slow paced guitar rhythm throughout the 8 minute track ringing similar sounds to "your hand in mine" that haunts slowly, peacefully, and give the listener a sense of calm tranquility.
Trembling Hands- Although this track could be extended, meaning that the song develops very quickly and reaches a climax of fast upbeat rhythm guitar pretty much throughout the whole 3 minute piece, normally explosions focuses on building up slowly into such a quick paced song. However this track shows listeners a new influence of sounds that we have not yet heard from explosions but at the same time manages to maintain an amazing post-rock feel that we have all become so familiar to. Great short track.
Be Comfortable, Creature- Great track with a familiar repetitive drum beat fueling a guitar rhythm which features heavy vamping and long electric guitar pedals that crescendo in and out warmly.
Postcard from 1952-Although it begins with a very chilling and calm melody it quickly builds into an escalating rhyme of repetitive drum beats and vibrant chord strums. A great track
Let Me Back In- Defiantly one of the more intense songs on the track. 10 minutes of captivating blissful post-rock from beginning to end. Amazing.
EITS: a truly beautiful band
ToLiveAgain.
Every song hits the soul. Music that matters - Thank-you !!!
