I Took a Chance and I Let the music play
An eclectic mix of alternative, punk, reggae/ska and good old fashioned rock n' roll flawlessly blended to perfection. With lyrics that are simple yet meaningful and guitar solos that evoke visions of 80's metal/hard rock gods. Intricate use of bass and drums that do not overwhelm the ear but compliment the guitars and vocals perfectly. Catchy melodies that will easily have you thinking you've heard these songs before even upon hearing them for the first time. 82Fifty will instantly have you singing along with every line. An effective yet subtle use of harmonies that punctuate the lyrics in all the right places. A refreshing pure sound that is not tainted with studio trickery but comes across in a polished performance without sacrificing the raw energy of a live show. This album can be listened to from start to finish without skipping a track. A must have album for any music fan or fan of true musicians. A refreshing display of talented songwriting and musicianship. Can't wait till the next album comes out!
Like the title states, take a chance and let the music play. You wont be disappointed!!!
Where to start? This band is probably one of the best kept secrets in music. Not only are they from Hawaii where there is little to no real rock scene, these guys top the great ones from there like Pepper (All around better! Similar but 82Fifty is by far more diverse) and National Product (Too Emo). Great musicianship with simple but very catchy and deep lyrics best explains their music. You will find yourself singing along to many of their tracks! The stand out songs would probably be Woman, Can't Beleive It's True, So High, Nevermind, and Too Strong but all the other songs are awesome as well. Thus an album you can listen to from start to finish with is extremely rare nowadays. Take a chance and let the music play!!!!
Worth the $9.99!!
I was hearing all this hype about this local band from Pearl City, Hawaii - 82Fifty. I went to watch them at a few of their live gigs and thought they were absolutely awesome. I've been waiting for them to record an album and its finally here! And it was definitely worth the wait!! Songs including (but not limited to) Crazy, Beautiful and my favorite - So High - make it impossible to not sing along and keeps me craving more. Can't wait to check out another live show....can't wait to hear more from these Pearl City guys!! Check it out...each song is worth the $0.99.
