Witty Electronic-Progressive Rock
On composer David Z's second collaboration with vocalist Aimee Bernard (third with producer Anthony J. Resta--also a producer/programmer for bands like Duran Duran and Collective Soul!--the trio has really hit their stride. (I actually bought the CD itself from Amazon--traitor to iTunes, I know!) This music is just so fun to listen to, dance to, drive to, sing along with--you name it. Even the songs with lyrics that convey longing, loss, or uncertainty, the music somehow radiates happiness, so it's a great album to have on hand when you want a pick-me-up. It's witty and a bit quirky and definitely has the hooks to get you grooving, but it's fresh--not at all cheesy. Incidentally, I noticed that there haven't been a lot of downloads of "Delirious," and it is one of the shorter tracks; however, it's well worth having. How can you not like a song with such a fun line to roll off your tongue as "I'm delirious, seriously"? Have fun with this album!
What's Not To Like.....
Catchy, melodic, sensual, pop electronica that just keeps on going. It stays up, even when it is down. I'm always suspicious of music that I like instantly as I get bored with it fast, but this CD just got better the more I listened. There are plenty of hooks, twists, diversions and lyrical depths, to keep it interesting. One of the best musical finds that I've....erm....found. What's not to like?
