Demo vs Album

The way Low down grew on me over a year with the demo songs released on myspace, truly a raw feeling and attraction to the music. It is a great mixture of Bluegrass and modern story telling with great Mandolin solos and burning banjo strings. I wouldn't say its for everyone but if you open yourself up to it can change your perspective on things. The only shame about this album is its overly mixed compared to the demo album. The difference is a pressured speed and over dramatization of some of the lyrics.

The banjo and mandolin have definitely improved, they toned down the standup bass player on the album which is a shame. I would suggest this for anyone seeking a change or lovers of country/bluegrass, give it a try you may be pleasantly surprised. If you get a chance to drop in to Denver or Boulder to see these guys they give a great show. Some of the Intros are rough but as the song warms on you so does the mesh these guys have, its almost chaotic at times but then as it progresses it becomes a flow of perfectly placed notes.
