I have to tell you that I heard just a sample of Highland Cathedral over two years ago and instantly fell in love with it.  It's hard to put into words how I feel when I listen to this song.  It sounds so romantic and hopeful, like this is the beginning of something wonderful and that life is great.  The funny thing is...I wasn't even dating anyone at that time that I heard your sample, but had been hoping that I would someday get married with this song as part of my wedding.  I just recently got engaged and now my dreams are coming true:  I'll be walking down the aisle to your beautiful song and will be marrying the man of my dreams. Knowing that I wanted this song for my wedding, I have listened to many different renditions of Highland Cathedral by many different artists (other pipe bands, Phil Coulter, etc).  I just wanted to compare different artists.  Yours is by far the best I've heard.  Many are usually too strong in the solo, not sweet like yours.  I think that's part of its beauty. Again, thank you for giving me a wonderful song to use in my wedding.  I'm very excited about using it for my special day. Sincerely, Jennifer Lawley

hi fidelity it is not

I am waiting for the day someone comes up with a way to record bagpipes without making them sound like pennies in a cheap frying pan. The upper register notes are always lost...all I can picture is John Cleese [a la Monty Python] running around with a cheap mic and a cassette recorder, knocking over half the members of the marching band while trying to record Amazing Grace.

Phenomenal Album!

I play in a pipe band and own more than 150 pipe band CDs. Any bagpipe lover should know that these folks did a fantastic job recording this album! The downloads sound much more natural than many of the CD recordings of bagpipes that I've ever heard. Despite the compression artifacts of .aac files or .mp3s, the engineers captured each & every note on the pipe chanters just as they naturally sound in real life, not to mention the drums, brass & woodwinds. I especially love the pipe organ featured on, "Amazing Grace" & "Highland Cathedral." You should see the goose bumps rise on everybody's arms when I play these two tunes for others. It's amazing!!! Anyway, I would like to know what equipment they used for this recording, (even-though we probably couldn't afford similar equipment for our band), but I'm hoping that somebody from St. Andrew's could please post more details? Thank you all so very much for such an awesome album!!!
