The Brakes triumph on their first album

Welcome to this summer's first hot good-time album. The Brakes have triumphed on their first full-length effort, with soaring tunes, catchy songwriting, and their trademark impeccable musicianship. As unusual as it may be for a first record to be a live one, the impressive engineering on this project almost leads one to believe that they're listening to a studio recording. Only when the presence of the audience is made clear, do you realize what a truly outstanding live recording this is. I'm sure we'll be hearing plenty more from The Brakes. Wait until the critics get their hands on this one.

Nothing Fancy...

Just solid American Rock n Roll. This band has some serious range and it shows on "Tale of 2 Cities." From mellow love tunes like Into the Ground to rockers like Big Money and Danger Blues, The Brakes have produced an all-together LISTENABLE and ENJOYABLE album for almost anyone- a rare feat in today's otherwise genetically-mutated-and-electronically-conceived musical media. These guys have real talent; musicianship, songwriting and tight knit compositions.

If nothing else, buy "Supermarket" and "Tale of 2 Cities"...you wont be able to resist the rest of the album after those.

The Brakes deliver the goods on this one!

This new CD project by, The Brakes, is a great collection of songs by an extremely talented group of musicians. My favorites are the bluesy-rock tinged "Big Money" and "Sister Mary". All the sounds on this record are really top-notch and the overall production lets the music be heard without distraction - something I don't find too much these days.
There really is something for everyone in this collection of rock music gems. I think the Brakes CD "A Tale Of Two Cities" is a great addition to any music library!
