Absolutely superb!!!
I have had the opportunity to see two advance screenings of 'Tangled' and I have to say...both movie and soundtrack are amazing. Alan Menken has to be applauded for his work here. There's a wonderful mix of fun and emotion. When I first heard "I See the Light" (before seeing the movie), my initial reaction was to say it lacks the punch of former Menken songs "A Whole New World" or "Out There" (just to name a couple). After putting it on repeat a few times, it finally hit me like an emotional brick and I couldn't believe I had been so blind. The strength of the song is in its quiet sweetness, its gentle sincerity. Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi harmonize well here and help possibly make this my new favorite Disney song.
Two standouts from the score would be "Kingdom Dance" and "Waiting for the Lights"...possibly because these scenes in the movie are just incredible!
Alan Menken is a genius!
This is an amazing soundtrack! How long I have waited for a new Menken Disney MUSICAL movie. I love it! Disney is back!
Zachary Levi
I did not know he could sing so well. He's awesome. My mom watches 'Chuck' a lot, so I had known who he was before I heard of 'Tangled'. Well, kind of. I didn't really know his name until Tangled came out, but... Anyway, I had no idea he could sing so well.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR TANGLED! I'M GOING TO EXPLODE IF I DON'T SEE IT SOON! 4 DAYS! I HAVE TO WAIT 4 DAYS! I MIGHT EXPLODE! LOL. Just kidding. Kind of. I might go crazy.
The song that got me hooked was 'I See The Light'. I love romance, and I think I'd call that a pretty romantic song. I have GOT to see the scene that's in in the movie. I also like 'I've Got a Dream'. HILARIOUS!
I swear, I'm about to explode. I can't wait! 4 days!
