Teen Witch, The Musical Soundtrack - I LOVE IT!
I just finished listening to the CD's and what can I say but WOW! I will admit that when I heard that the soundtrack would be from a Broadway musical version instead of the actual movie, I was a bit skeptical, but after hearing it, well, I can only say that exceptional does not even begin to cover it! I love the extra verse in "Finest Hour" that was not in the movie. I was also pleased (to say the least) that you used the FULL version of "Popular Girl" (the reprise version used at the end of the movie after "Finest Hour") instead of the slightly truncated version that is used in the middle of the movie when Louise first casts the "Popular Girl" spell. And the way you overlapped the rap section toward the end of "Popular Girl" was fantastic! The words were sung clearly to each song as well! (That is something my elementary school music teacher taught me that I will always remember...) Do you know which (if any) of the other songs will be released as singles and when? I can wait!
Classic
As a fan of the movie (who DOES remember it and knows it starred Robyn Lively, not Molly Ringwald) I was excited to see that it had been made into a musical. I'm not sure I like the new songs yet, but the remakes of the songs from the movie are well done.
You'll love it!
This is an awesome cd. Anyone that's a fan of Monet Lerner/Monico must get this. She was a guest star on the Suite Life of Zack and Cody and is an amazing singer. I'd call this a must for anyone that likes upbeat music and is into the not-so-known singers.
