Temple Of Low

So this is a different feel to the first eponymous CH Album - in some ways it sets the tone for later recordings.. it takes time to appreciate.. with the exception of 2 tracks (Kill Eye and Mansion in the Slums - neither of which I care for) the songs are outstanding featuring amazing melodies and some dark lyrics.. most Crowdies know Better Be home Soon which closes nearly every concert.. it's haunting and beautiful.. Sister Madly is a almost jazzy uptempo fun song highlighting the talents of the much-missed Paul Hester on the drums (in this case also using brushes).. When You Come is a glorious piece of pop music with a typical Finn "bridge" being the emotional high of the song.. Never Be The Same would not be out place on the first album.. excellent pop song but for the me the underrated treasure is Love This Life.. simply a stunning melody that any great songwriter would be proud to have written... get it and listen at least 3 times.....

another great CH

Love this album. Definitely darker and more introspective than their debut, but no less listenable. Favorites from this one are "I Feel Possessed", "When You Come", "Love This Life", and "Never Be The Same", and "Better Be Home Soon"

Brilliant

They played many of these songs live on their first US tour promoting the first album. When You Come was always one of my fav's. I only wish the album had included My Recurring Dream which would have been a perfect fit.

Love this album and it takes me back to Summer '88 working at The Wherehouse. Amazing memories from an amazing band. Pity it didn't get the commercial recognition it deserved in the US. Things might have turned out different had the record company got behind the band.
