A decent follow-up to Now Here Is Nowhere
Now Here is Nowhere is a masterpiece in my mind, so it's hard to follow something like that up. That being said, I think Ten Silver Drops is a very good album (I would actually give it 3.5 stars if I could). What I think is lacking for me is some of the intensity from the first album, some of that driving drumbeat and the sheer excitement that I get when turning that album up real loud. It takes me to another place, and I'm just not feeling that with this album. To be fair, I've only listened through 3 times, which is definintely not enough to make a good judgement. I'm sure I will be listening to this album a lot in the future though.
Sounds like the Future of Music
This band has created, with their last two albums, the sounds of the future. Ten Silver Drops is my favorite Machines album. Upon my first listen I didn’t think I would like it as much as their older stuff, but after really listening to it, I realized that it is far better. Their music has progressed, their compositions are more balanced and at the same time more dynamic. The sophistication of the Secret Machines’ “space music” astounds. This sound borrows from so many different genres including rock, jazz, and even industrial music. I can't even describe it effectively. Just listen to this album, or better yet see these dudes live, it will change your life!
this music has been mixed to be played loud...
...so turn it up. i've used this product for about 24 hours now, and i am extremely satisfied. haven't you ever been to a secret machines show! anyway you don't have to take my word for it. four out of five otologists agree that you should definitely put ten silver drops into your ears.
