Masterful Lyrics, Musically Diverse

As usual, Pierce Pettis doesn't disappoint. His honest, straightforward vocal style is only enhanced by his masterful crafting of lyrics. And under this layer is a musical structure that further demonstrates Pettis’ delicate touch with the selection of instrumentation and supporting vocals. Nothing is here that doesn’t need to be here - the length and breadth of his phrasing is evidence that he’s not afraid of the space between the notes. Another Pettis hit for sure.

Best album yet!!

I have been a huge Pierce Pettis fan since Tinseltown, and this is his best album yet. The writing is better than ever and some of the songs are just so beautifully haunting. Buy this album.

More great stuff from a master songwriter

I've followed Pierce's music since Chase the Buffalo and before an album even comes out I know that there will be great material on it. This album does not disappoint. The title track grabbed my heart when I first listened to it: "Wiser than the wisest sage ~ It's innocence makes me ashamed ~ Til I'm not sure I can take ~ That kind of love" His music captures the subtle inner workings in all of our hearts and that makes listening to his album on my way to work or a long drive an experience of spiritual nourishment for me personally. I also especially like Lion's Eye and I Am Nothing. I hope Pierce leaves many more jewels like these in his life's work -- future generations will also appreciate this beautiful art.
